Solved Bios Will Not Update After Clean Install Of OS

I have completed a clean install of windows 7 SP1. after updating windows, I tried to update the bios from gateway’s support site. I get the error message “this program is unable to continue. internal system error, there is a programming or internal problem.”
what do I do about this?
