Solved Asus ROG G551JM Audio Output Stopped Working

  • 6

Hi.
Here’ the short story:
I was listening to some music, with my headset connected (through the 3.5mm jack) and working. Then I tried changing the “Default Format” to something higher. Now the audio from the output has stopped working.

I have tried restarting my PC. I have tried reinstalling the audio driver (realtek), with both the original driver (from back up) to the newest. I have tried several headsets to see if it was my headset. I have tried to set the “Default Format” back to normal (and lower values). I even tried the troubleshooting tool, but nothing works.

If I play any sound it will show up as playing, but theres no sound from any connected audio jack headsets…

My laptop is an Asus ROG G551JM, the headset I use is a QPAD QH90. The audio jack port is a combi port, both headset and mic.

  1. Good to hear. What you did “discharges the motherboard components” and has been known to do the trick now and then. Thx for letting us know.
