Asus P7H55-M Not Posting

  • 2

I’m upgrading my brothers PC; replacing the m/b, cpu, memory and vga. Installed all components, I turn it on and nothing no post, screen stays in standby mode.

Motherboard is a Asus P7H55-M
Cpu is i5-750 (2.66GHz)
Memory is Kingston KVR1333D3N9K2/4G 2pack (is on the qualified vendors list for m/b)

I have noticed that when i install the memory into the blue dimm’s it gives post error beep of 1 long beep 3 short beeps. In the black dimm’s there is no post. Also my PSU only has 1x 4pin to plug into the m/b, but the m/b gets power so thought not a issue, cap was covering the other 4pin.

Is my m/b faulty? or memory? or do i need new PSU with 2x 4pin for the m/b?

  1. Thanks for letting us know you solved the problem. I’m surprised that board has onboard video. Do you have the Pro version ? Most boards like that today have no onboard video. Here is someone else with a similar problem.

I’m also curious what psu you have.
