I found an asus p4p800-e that i want to use for a d.j. booth. i have built quite a few pcs but this one has me a bit stumped. the order of the ide configuration is just annoying (can only boot from secondary ide slot). i have a p4 3.2 1m 800 and corsiar xtreme speed led ram new sparkle nvidia 256 mb 7&8 compatible gpu and some old ide drives. i have 7 installed on the secondary ide configuration but this allows me only dvd rom and 1 hdd. no matter what i do in bios the primary slot wont boot any kind of driveso i want to instal windows 7 on the ide serial port but all is well until windows is ready to install and the array is not found. the array is present in the fastrack controller and in the boot menu but not on the advanced bios screen. i understand that the promise controller is a separate intity and i need to probably boot with a floppy. problem is i have no floppy drive and cannot format a usb and run it as a forced floppy. this is just a cool mpbo and i am a diehard 478 fan so if anyone is familiar with this and can install raid controllers from usb please help.

Are you using an 80 wire cable with Master/ Slave jumper settings on the connected drives?
You may also need to Disable the IDE RAID port in the BIOS, that is located near the SATA ports.
See the link below to the manual for your board.
