Acer LCD Monitor Says Cable Not Connected

the monitor I have is an Acer 22″ G227HQL connected to my pc by HDMI it was working fine before we moved house. Now I have plugged it all back in after the move and with the pc turned on it displays cable not connected then after about 30 seconds the monitor goes into standby mode. Please help before I spend money trying to fix a simple problem

      Make sure the cable is fully seated and if more than one HDMI port available that you are using the same one as before.
