Solved Acer Aspire One 722 Has a High Temperature Reading For Cpu

Acer aspire one 722 hot cpu
The netbook has cpuid installed and the cpu has a high temperature reading. It is about 58c when idle and is about 65c when you open an application or browse the internet.
The laptop occasionally freezes and also occasionally blue screens followed by shut down.

I have tried using a usb cooling board underneath the laptop which brings the temperature down by about 8c.

Burt surely there must be a fault for it to reach temperatures of 70c which it sometimes does.

Any ideas?

      Many thanks. I have changed the settings in the bios to the defaults. I think that I am going to use arctic silver paste on the cpu. It may not be necesary though as I replaced the thermal pad with some new paste 4 days ago and the pc is still running hot but has stopped freezing and crashing. I will continue to use it every day to test it and it seems to be working normally now. I will wait and see though and I am still not happy about the cpu temperature which is about 53c idle. it is more with the power charger connected.
