Hi.
I have a brand new ASUS GeForce GTX780 OCII (+something something). On the driver CD, there are overclocking software and nVidia GPU driver software. I use the OC software to boost the GPU clock (and such). The problem is:
Once I start a game (or gives the GPU something to “work with”) after overclocking, the nVidia graphics driver crashes and all my screens go black. I end up forcing a shutdown on my PC most of the time (however, on rare occasions, Windows manages to re-start the driver).
(I don’t remember the driver version, but it should be the newest one) I have tried re-installing all software and drivers for the card with no results. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Note that the driver on the CD are not usually the latest, download them directly from NVidia.
Yes, back down on the OC and monitor temps while testing for stability and while gaming for at least a week after you manage stability. If it is running hot while gaming you will need to back down on the OC, increase the fan speed curve, and/or improve case cooling with a better case fan(s) or possibly an additional fan depending on the case configuration.
