So, suddenly last night Bluetooth in my windows 10 laptop stopped working for no reason. The toggle switch in settings disappeared and the Bluetooth device in device manager has a small triangle on it.
I tried to reinstall the drivers and it says “The drivers are not intended for this platform” while it clearly states on the Intel website that those drivers are for 64bit windows 10.
Yes! the Bluetooth chip in my laptop is from Intel and I am 100% sure that I am using the right driver files.
Here is the device ID: USB\VID_8087&PID;_07DC&REV;_0001
I do not understand how can this happen that suddenly windows just discards the drivers it was previously using and was working fine. I checked in Dell Diagnosis and it says my Bluetooth chip is working fine so, it is a driver or windows issue.
This is totally weird and makes no sense to me!
Why be born again when you can just grow up?

If so you could see if there is a restore point dated just before your problem came along. If so go for it, your own stuff is not affected.
The other thing you could try is discharging the motherboard components, like this:
Turn off computer and remove power cord. Remove main laptop battery then hold the Power Off/On button down for at least 20 seconds. As you have now updated drivers it is unlikely to help but if the battery is easy to remove it would still be worth trying.
Always pop back and let us know the outcome – thanks
