Hi i am using vaio laptop win7 OS. i had downloaded a movie and it was not opening. It says “need webxvid codec to open this movie”. Even i installed it says again. please help.

Be careful with anything that says you need a specific codec, and the website for this particular one looks very suspect. Ones like this are often just scams and the original video may well not even be an actual movie. There was a spate of these a couple of years ago (can’t remember the particular codec that was mentioned at that time) and that turned out to be just a way to get yourself infected.
My advice, delete the downloaded ‘film’, uninstall (if you can) the codec installer, and run a full scan of your system with Malwarebytes or similar. Then get your downloads from a respected site.
