USB To Parallal Port LX-800 Printer

Dear Sir, I have Epson LX-800 which I want to run with Dell D620.The printer is of parallal port and computer has only USB ports.I did purchased Bafo’s BF-1284 cables without any CD for drivers. Will I need a driver CD also! The printer driver is loaded manually. The wizard did not recognized the printer and I had to load the driver manually. Can you plz help.The printer does not print notepad or wordpad and the command prompt does not detect the printer.
