Redirect LPT1 To A File Via Batch

  • 0

I use a program called CISFAC which is DOS based. It accesses and displays database info in a 3270 type format. It defaults to LPT1 when you click the “Print” key. I need to redirect LPT1 to a prn or text file for formatting. prior to printing because the default output prints off of the page. Like it needs a line tractor feed printer…..HELP Please!

  1. I had configured a batch file to change the format of a LaserJet
III to print the line printer formated accounting reports to fit the
standard paper. Was called from menu. No need to touch
    printer. Software was RealWorld Accounting.

  2. There are programs that capture LPT printer output to file.
lpt2prn or PrintQ. Depending on your environment and printer
you may set the printer to landscape and 66 lines and a
lineprinter font. Then you can print directly. The following
    requires a HPPCL page printer.
