Solved Monitor For MacBook With Webcam And Audio

  • 3

Hello Folks,
I have Late MacBook 2008 which still working fine and I want to replace external Monitor.
Since I keep my laptop ‘hidden’ i.e. under the top of the desk I need to have webcam and speakers and mic on Monitor.
I was looking for 27″ Monitor with built-in webcam and audio.
I found a few by ASUS but they don’t support webcam for Mac.
Neither Dell nor HP have those types of Monitors.
I’m kind of frustrated …
Are you aware of any other Vendors that do Monitors with built-in webcam and audio and would be compatible with MacBook. I assume that type of Monitors could be in category ‘gaming’
Browsing ‘google’ didn’t help me …
Any suggestion would be appreciated …

Thanks

  1. I’ve found most current monitors are ok with just about any computer. Many come with speakers, although I find the output a little low. If you buy a monitor with speaker and use an external webcam your problems are solved?

I have a Samsung 27 ins screen with built in speakers, and use a Logitech webcam plugged into a Mac USB port. MacBooks are short on USB ports so add a powered USB hub if you need more ports. I have a D-link 6 port powered hub which is excellent.
