Solved Toshiba L455 S5000 Cpu Upgrade

cpu upgrade : celeron900 800mhz socket p to intel p8700 2.53mhz socket p ? ,bios cannot upgrade now ,ordered new battery to upgrade bios to 1.30 to 1.50version as cpu p8700 would not run or start but old cpu a celeron900 still runs ok ???

  1. How did you determine the P8700 would be compatible? Your laptop is based on the Intel GL40 Express Chipset which only supports up to 800MHz FSB. The P8700 is a 1066MHz FSB CPU. So even if it was compatible (which it’s not), it would only run at 1.9GHz.

In both cases, the later generation of processor will not work with the previous generation of chipset: almost always, a 533MHz FSB Pentium M will not work with a 400MHz FSB chipset and a 1066MHz Core 2 Duo will not work with an 800MHz FSB chipset. 400MHz FSB Pentium M processors work in 533MHz FSB chipsets, but there is no confirmation that 533MHz to 800MHz FSB Core 2 Duo processors will work in 1066MHz chipsets.”
