How To Overclock The Ram On A Toshiba Satellite C75D-B73

I have a Toshiba laptop that I would like to know how to over clock the ram on a Toshiba Satellite C75D-B7350? Running windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.

  1. I have no idea of your computer background. Generally speaking, laptops are not overclockable – that is by design. Some high end gaming laptops are overclockable, but certainly not entry-level units. And I deliberately pointed out that you have a lower end machine just in case you thought differently. I also posted a link to your APU info to show that the memory controller in your supports DDR3-1600, which apparently you already have. Also, the memory controller is single channel only. Increasing the RAM speed in your laptop (which isn’t possible anyway) would do little or nothing to improve system performance.

    If you were working with a custom desktop system with a retail motherboard (not OEM), things would be different. The BIOS would contain all the settings necessary for overclocking (voltage adjustments, timings, bus speeds, etc) but these settings are deliberately not included in OEM systems to help cut back on support calls due to user “tampering”.

    You can try using overclocking software, but the results are usually less than exciting. The following article is fairly old but maybe you’ll find something useful:
