E5400 Intel CPU Compatible With ECS 945GZT-M?

  • 1

Have 4-yr old mobo Elite group (ECS) 945GZT-M. Manufacturer says they testted Intel CPUs only up to E4500, and so, that is max CPU they list as compatible. Socket is LGA775.

Newer CPU E5400 is also LGA 775.

Does this mean that E5400 would also be compatible with 945GZT-M, or does anyone know for sure, even though not bench tested by ECS before they moved on to make and market newer mobos?

Thanks much,

    E4700 http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_…

As u can see the only difference is clock multiplier. iam sure e4700 will work with 945gzt-m.

  2. c2d e4700 is LGA 775

PLGA (Plastic Land Grid Array) describes how the core is packaged onto the chip, and LGA (Land Grid Array) is the type of socket the whole thing plugs into.

PLGA has also been used on PIIs, and s423 P4s (<- these were actually OLGA, Organic Land Grid Array – or OOI, Olga On Interposer).

  3. Intel 945g support wolfdale chips but check cpu support list from esc and if u don’t find it there try to update bios. Before updating bios check if the new bios support wolfdale chips.
