Hey everyone. I just purchased a used IBM ThinkCentre S51 model 8173 off lease which I’m using as a Linux Asterisk box. The processor it comes with it says is:
Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 540 3.2GHz with HT Technology, 800MHz FSB, 1MB cache
The mainboard I can’t really tell since it’s an IBM system so pretty sure it’s made by them. Just trying to see if the processor can be upgraded at all but having a hard time. I have a newer ThinkCentre that just died on me that has a Pentium D 3.06 in it, trying to see if first off I can use that one in this system, or if I can upgrade this system to anything other than just another Pentium 4. Thanks!

With both the motherboard and cpu it would cost 113 dollars, which is cheap and would give you a nice performance boost over what you have now.
