Solved Cause of Files to Have a Dollar Sign $ in Front of File Name

why do some of my files have a $ in front of the file name. Why is it there? can I remove it?

      I think phil22 may be correct. Some word processor maybe is doing an autosave or some normal temporary storage of a file. That file is used to hold your work in progress. Can be maybe some other things.

      Don’t know why all of a sudden. Could it be that you are not able to properly shutdown your system? Did you install some word processor app?

      You should be able to at least send them to the recycle bin and see if they are needed at all.

      Hang up and live.
