Solved Missing Data Tab In office Starter 2010 Excel

missing data tab in excel starter 2010 on a toshiba laptop has windows7

I am a clark college assignment asks us to insert column to left,then to click the data tab on ribbon, then click text to columns in the data tools group supposed to open convert text to columns wizard.
THERE IS NO DATA TAB!! please help i need to do my homework!

      Try clicking the ‘file’ tab, select ‘options’, select ‘customise ribbon’ and make sure there is a tick in the ‘data’ box on the right-hand side.
