Tried posting on C'Net about this last week, but seems my post was deleted and not so much as a PM explaininng why.

I've tried digging the info out online, but what should be something plainly disclosed or at least simply explained somewhere, just isn't.

So what it is about Yahoo! e-mails that used to and/or still prevents Yahoo! e-mails from being forwarded to OE6 inboxes?

Regards and hap-e-trails, Steve Hopper

Well, the reason is so apparent that it shouldn't need explaining.

Yahoo offers email service for free, correct? Do you think they do it out of charity? No, they do it for a profit. So, how do you profit from a service that you offer for free. ADVERTISING!!!!

If they were to freely allow you to download your email to your email client then you would have no reason to go through the web interface. Less traffic on the web interface means they can't charge as much for advertising.

It's pretty self-explanatory. It's only prevented if you don't pay for it.

Hi
see JSumns post for why passing email from one address to another mail has a cost on yahoo, however vista windows mail works as a client fine for bt/yahoo accounts in the UK

stupid adverts bypassed as you dont have to use web mail, (may be a deal Bt have with yahoo?)
i dont know, it just works.
