Reply: (edit)buy a camera and record any and all transactions over the counter and in sight of the register.. That way you can see what was scanned in the sale and what wasn't plus get any open till transactions as well. recording the desktop movements or keylogging would not tell you what he was taking or how he was doing it. Reply: (edit)Wouldn't a POS machine already provide an activity log that would record transactions? Separate video surveillance might be preferable in this situation if you cannot determine from the log what is going on. If someone is smart enough to manipulate the transaction logs to hide their activities then they will almost certainly be able to detect something like a keylogger. Talk to the vendor who supplied your POS software. I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
