It was working on a external monitor but he tried to do a system repair or restore? I don&#8217;t know which nor does he, now the external connection is not working.<\/p>\n<p>I figured Fn F4 or F8 would switch it but i&#8217;m not familiar with these new gateways and windows 8. Fn F4 just seems to shut off the LED backlight F8 nothing. I figured i&#8217;d try to help him get it back running on a monitor till they can afford to buy a new screen which I can replace.
