This prevents me from alerting anyone else who may have already6 been following that other post and therefore deprives me of that access to their experience and recollection. Also, the “Pick a Category” options are s—, because this is neither a “General Hardware” question nor is it a problem with Windows 7, this is a problem with the Asus-factory-settings hidden recovery partition on the hard drive.<\/p>\n
I have performed recovery from EMS partition before on my Asus EeePC 1015PX, and hitting F9 is what would bring me to the prompt that would begin that process. That prompt would ONLY include the “Windows Setup [EMS Enabled]” option, or cancelling out to reboot to Windows as normal. Instead, that single-only option that should be there is *missing,* and in its place, there is a single standalone option to Boot to Windows 7 as normal from that prompt without a reboot which would otherwise have been normally required, and an F8-optional submenu with WinRE options that are built into the installed-copy of Windows on the hard drive and do not derive from a recovery partition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"iawp_total_views":0},"question-category":[47],"question_tags":[],"class_list":["post-8705","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-hardware"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question\/8705","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/question"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/5"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=8705"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=8705"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"question-category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question-category?post=8705"},{"taxonomy":"question_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question_tags?post=8705"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
