i am experiencing & have searched the web about this problem — “Searching for Boot Record from IDE-0…OK”<\/p>\n

i have tried replacing the CMOS battery.
\ni tried reseating my IDE & power cables.. tryied another IDE cable.
\ni tried ‘Load Default settings’<\/p>\n

i still get the same message. “Searching for Boot Record from IDE-0…OK”
\ni might try using a new IDE cable &
\ntrying CHKDSK, Fixboot &\/or Fixmbr (or Fdisk \/MBR) after posting here.<\/p>\n

but i’d like to get your opinion first…
\ni tried this ‘problem hard disk’, using the same IDE cable, in another PC —- before AND after trying it in the ‘problem PC’….. it worked normally, the other PC boots ok..
\nis it safe to say that the problem lies in the ‘problem PC’?
\nperhaps, the BIOS chip or the motherboard is broken\/dead?
\nany suggestions\/advice?<\/p>\n

details:
\nOS – windows XP
\nAsrock K7 upgrade 600 motherboard
\nAMD sempron 2400+ 1667MHz
\nthis ‘problem PC’ is 5-6years. old<\/p>\n
