It was working just fine until he got a really nasty virus, and the server was down for a few days, which in the meantime he got Mcafee AntiVirus Plus.

Now, Mcafee blocks all incoming connections it seems, regardless of whether the server’s port (25565) or the Java module from which it runs (javaw.exe) is allowed full access. He did a test yesterday by putting the firewall down for 5 minutes and opening the server; It worked fine from my computer.

I’ve seen some posts saying that Mcafee is an “unselective” firewall, I guess it just seems to overblock. If my friend has to uninstall Mcafee to get it to work, He’ll probably do it…

How do I get this through? It’s obviously a VERY bad idea to do this without any firewall, but I’ve tried everything in my somewhat-limited playbook to get this through without disabling the firewall completely.

~oldie
Not everyone can decipher Klingon script…
chay’ ta’ SoH tlhe’ vam Doch Daq

message edited by OLDISGOOD

[56

post-6686","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-security
["GET
