{"id":5759,"date":"2021-11-16T13:33:08","date_gmt":"2021-11-16T13:33:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lgildv5i97.onrocket.site\/answers\/?post_type=question&#038;p=5759"},"modified":"2021-11-16T13:38:02","modified_gmt":"2021-11-16T13:38:02","slug":"destination-host-unreachable","status":"publish","type":"question","link":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/networking\/destination-host-unreachable\/42418.html","title":{"rendered":"Destination Host Unreachable"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&lt;td&gt;A few months ago, I posted this issue over here and have not yet fixed it:&lt;br&gt;&lt;a href=&#8221;https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160202041206\/http:\/\/homecommunity.cisco.com\/t5\/Wireless-Routers\/Destination-host-unreachable\/m-p\/326241&#8243; target=&#8221;_blank&#8221; rel=&#8221;nofollow&#8221;&gt;http:\/\/homecommunity.cisco.com\/t5\/W&#8230;&lt;\/a&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&#8217;m getting unexpected &#8220;destination host unreachable&#8221; whenever I try to ping my laptop from the PC that I am posting this from even though the laptop can ping the PC.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here is what my network looks like:&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Router Model: WRTU54G-TM (Wireless-G Router with 2 Phone Ports)&lt;br&gt;Router IP: 192.168.10.20&lt;br&gt;Router Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0&lt;br&gt;DHCP Server Starting IP: 198.168.10.21&lt;br&gt;DHCP Server Max Number: 4&lt;br&gt;DCHP Table:&lt;br&gt;192.168.10.21 Laptop* (XP SP2)&lt;br&gt;192.168.10.22 Network Printer* (HP Photosmart C4780)&lt;br&gt;192.168.10.24 PC** (Vista Home Premium 64bit SP2)&lt;br&gt;* Wireless&lt;br&gt;** IP assigned statically&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;When I try to ping the laptop or network printer from the PC I get the error message &#8220;Destination host unreachable.&#8221; The laptop and PC can both ping the router and access the internet. Before I turned it off, Windows had the PC and Laptop sharing files without a problem. The laptop can scan and print documents over the network. The PC doesn&#8217;t have the software installed for the network printer.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&#8217;ve never been able to connect to any internet services between computers connected to any Linksys router.
