{"id":5462,"date":"2021-11-15T10:55:48","date_gmt":"2021-11-15T10:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lgildv5i97.onrocket.site\/answers\/?post_type=question&#038;p=5462"},"modified":"2021-11-15T10:58:47","modified_gmt":"2021-11-15T10:58:47","slug":"nfs-server","status":"publish","type":"question","link":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/linux\/nfs-server\/30480.html","title":{"rendered":"NFS Server"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>hi,<br \/>\ni am having problems with NFS server version 3 on RHEL4 (Nahant) unfortunately google failed to answer.<\/p>\n<p>nfs exports images folders in (rw) to solaris10 which run a SunOne7 Java webserver.<br \/>\nwhen opening a site from the SunOne7 Java webserver i cant see the images.<br \/>\nwhen trying to &#8220;ls&#8221; the file on the solaris10 server i get sometimes permission denied and sometimes file or<\/p>\n<p>directory cant be found, though if i &#8220;cd&#8221; to the parent directory and then cd to that file directory i will see<\/p>\n<p>the file by pressing &#8220;TAB&#8221; button but cant &#8220;ls&#8221; it.<br \/>\nonly when going to the NFS server machine and initiating an &#8220;ls&#8221; command to one of the images<br \/>\nfiles that i cant see all of the rest of the images in that page can be seen after refreshing the page.<br \/>\ni have enabled the following debug log command to search for any NFS errors.<\/p>\n<p>echo 32767 &gt; \/proc\/sys\/sunrpc\/nfsd_debug<br \/>\necho 32767 &gt; \/proc\/sys\/sunrpc\/nfs_debug<br \/>\necho 32767 &gt; \/proc\/sys\/sunrpc\/rpc_debug<\/p>\n<p>but unfortunatlly i didnt see any errors.<\/p>\n<p>please note that i had a tomcat website on the NFS server that hold the same images and the same<br \/>\nthing happens so its not related to the client side as far as i understand.<br \/>\ni have also increased the open files in the machines.<\/p>\n<p>when running the follwoing command i am getting the follwoing nfs packages that installed.<br \/>\n-bash-3.00# rpm -qa | grep nfs<br \/>\nnfs-utils-lib-1.0.6-8<br \/>\nnfs-utils-1.0.6-80.EL4<\/p>\n<p>These are the Solaris10 errors i get<br \/>\nFeb 3 10:36:34 si nfs: [ID 333984 kern.notice] NFS server nati not responding still trying<br \/>\nFeb 3 10:36:34 si last message repeated 1 time<br \/>\nFeb 3 10:36:34 si nfs: [ID 563706 kern.notice] NFS server nati ok<br \/>\nFeb 3 10:36:34 si last message repeated 1 time<br \/>\nFeb 3 10:46:13 si nfs: [ID 456612 kern.notice] file temporarily unavailable on the server, retrying&#8230;<br \/>\nFeb 3 11:06:20 si nfs: [ID 456612 kern.notice] file temporarily unavailable on the server, retrying&#8230;<br \/>\nFeb 3 11:10:03 si nfs: [ID 333984 kern.notice] NFS server nati not responding still trying<br \/>\nFeb 3 11:10:03 si last message repeated 1 time<br \/>\nFeb 3 11:10:03 si nfs: [ID 563706 kern.notice] NFS server nati ok<br \/>\nFeb 3 11:10:03 si last message repeated 1 time<br \/>\nFeb 3 12:59:45 si nfs: [ID 456612 kern.notice] file temporarily unavailable on the server, retrying&#8230;<br \/>\nFeb 3 14:02:13 si nfs: [ID 333984 kern.notice] NFS server nati not responding still trying<\/p>\n<p>in addition i have a samba installed on the NFS server that export the same folders in diffrent share names for<br \/>\na windows users.<br \/>\ncan it be some file locks or conflicts between the samba and NFS though i cant see any samba errors also.<\/p>\n<p>will thank any clue or a lead.<br \/>\nThanks in advanced<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"iawp_total_views":0},"question-category":[58],"question_tags":[],"class_list":["post-5462","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-linux"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question\/5462","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/question"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/5"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=5462"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5462"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"question-category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question-category?post=5462"},{"taxonomy":"question_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question_tags?post=5462"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
