New heatsink installed nicely and went to put some more ram in, only to find out afterwards that dual channel ram works in pairs. My problem is that after reverting back to just two sticks of ram my bios only shows half the amount of ram available. This also didnt happen straight away but after a couple of days. The ram is installed in the correct slots. Cpu-z says they are running in dual channel mode Unganged. Memtest86+ results no errors in ram. Ive reset the Cmos. and ive tried every single possible combination and reseated them about 8 million times. Ive re installed windows. ive made sure that maximum memory is unchecked in msconfig. ive read every single thing i could find on the net about it and i have ran out of ideas. All ive done is stick the old ram back in. Im wondering whether the mobo is broken or the Cpu’s memory controller is broken ? my specs are

Gigabyte MA770T-UD3 (F10)
AMD Phenom II x6 1055T
Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9

if you need any info please ask.

Cheers
Matthew

[47

post-4929","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-hardware
["GET
