{"id":3898,"date":"2021-11-06T09:18:01","date_gmt":"2021-11-06T09:18:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lgildv5i97.onrocket.site\/answers\/?post_type=question&#038;p=3898"},"modified":"2021-11-06T09:21:55","modified_gmt":"2021-11-06T09:21:55","slug":"connecting-cnc-machines","status":"publish","type":"question","link":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/networking\/connecting-cnc-machines\/41175.html","title":{"rendered":"Connecting CNC Machines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not sure if it&#8217;s the best place for this topic.<\/p>\n<p>In my workshop, I&#8217;m trying to network the CNC machines.<\/p>\n<p>There are a total of 4 CNC machines: 1 is using TCP\/IP, RJ45 cable, and 3 will be running NetBEUI, BNC RG58 cables.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m planning to have them connected through a router on the shop floor (using BNC to RJ45 ethernet converter for the BNC), and then connect the router to a computer in the production office (which will be running XP).<\/p>\n<p>Would something like this work? All I really need is so that I can make backup of programs easily, and have the machines download programs off the computer before run, and delete after run, without the privilege to save anything back (which should be easily configured with the right permissions).<\/p>\n<p>What I&#8217;m not sure is whether the 3 CNC machines could talk to the router, since they&#8217;re on NetBeui, and also connected with a ethernet converter.<\/p>\n<p>Any Advice?
