Greetings. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Computing.net.<\/p>\n
I’ve owned a Toshiba Satellite C650 for a little over a year now. I bought it in August 2011 before I moved up to college. I took the cheap route because I was still using my desktop as my primary machine. I’ve since sold that computer and I’m learning the ins and outs of computing on a budget laptop.<\/p>\n
I just started using my TV (19 inch Sansui HDLCD185W) as a monitor using a VGA cable, but I’ve run into a problem with a humming noise. Some googling revealed that this is not an uncommon problem for this set as it is fairly cheap. The humming sound is somewhat loud, but very bothersome. It continued to hum when the TV was being used for viewing as well. The humming disappears entirely when it is muted or the volume reduced to zero. This isn’t a huge problem because I’m using onboard sound for my laptop, and I plan to run my stereo speakers through it as well when I get the cables, so I’m not super concerned. However, I’d still like to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the humming problem.<\/p>\n
