I installed a update for lime wire. I shut down the computer and tried booting up the next day would not load past bios. I did some research and found that by pulling the cmos battery might help so i tried that. This was a success. I deleted the program limewire thinking this might have caused the problem. A month goes by, one day while booting the computer i get a bios checksum error. the time and date were incorrect. I did some more research and found this could be related to a dying battery. Replaced cmos battery with a new one. I am still stuck at the bios screen. If i hit f10 right away when i hit the power button, entering setup… will come across the screen and then sits there. If i leave the computer on overnight sometimes i will be in the bios screen. I was able to access bios today and fixed the time and date. I also turned on the boot screen diagnostics and from my understanding the computer will tell me what it’s doing as it loads.

so i made sure that the bios saved the date and time. exited saving changes and same problem. I turned off the computer and let it sit before powering. The boot diagnostics says Initializing usb controllers but stops there.

I have also tried reseting the cmos by using the jumper and powering up with just the monitor plugged in to see if my keyboard or mouse could be the problem. I should also inform you that after being on all night the power supply is very warm so im wondering if i might be overheating. I hear the fan running.

I am using a hp pavillion slimline s 3400t intel core 2 duo e4600 2.40 ghz cpu speed is 2.40 ghz/fsb speed 800 mhz
the bios is a phoenix-award bios v6.00pg

[47

post-3680","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-hardware
["GET
