I just noticed today that, when trying to run a variety of programs, I get an error message stating the following; (This example is from the installer for The Sims, but it happens on quite a few programs including GTA V’s installer and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s installer. It also happens when using the Windows 7 Logon Background Changer.)

AutoPlay: start.exe – Entry Point Not Found

“The procedure entry point ucrtbase.teminate could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll”

Every application that displays this error proceeds to run perfectly fine afterward. Also, the exact same error appears two more times after clicking OK.

I did a bit of research to find a fix, and ended up finding quite a few different solutions. One suggested uninstalling Visual Studio C++ 2015’s runtime, which I managed to do after a bit of struggling with the uninstaller for both the x86 and x64 versions. It didn’t help at all.

I don’t know if it’s related, but I’ve also noticed that YouTube videos will randomly fail to play at all in Google Chrome. A restart fixes this.

At this point, I’m just annoyed and don’t really know where to go from this point,

Any suggestions?

MSI B75MA-P45 Motherboard
Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz
8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
SAPPHIRE AMD Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD (Windows 7 Ultimate)
Toshiba 2TB HDD

[42

post-2990","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-windows-7
["GET
