It was disabled.<\/p>\n<p>By enabling and starting this service, I was able to launch the VPN client and establish my VPN connection without getting this error message again.<\/p>\n<p>PROBLEM SOLVED.<\/p>\n<p>Why did I post this? While troubleshooting I found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/windows-7\/what-is-vpn-service-component\/11872.html\">the same problem described in this forum back in 2012 (titled &#8220;What is VPN service component?&#8221;)<\/a>, and would love to post this reply to that thread, but that thread is closed.
