I found an on-line battery recommended as a CR2025 so I bought one of those & took the laptop apart to get to the CMOS battery which I saw was actually a CR2032. From what I read, the CR2032 is just a bit thicker (3.2mm vs. 2.5mm for the CR2025) and with a slightly longer life … but the CR2015 did fit into the slot provided & the little spring in there seems to take up the extra space. Anyway, I replaced the battery w\/ the new CR2025, put things back together again … and the same dang “ERROR 0271: System CMOS checksum bad – Default configuration used” message came up. I wasn’t shocked as I figured that the clock would just need to be re-set 1 more time so I did that. Then I restarted it & the same “ERROR 0271: System CMOS …” message came up again!! What’s next … do I really need to get a CR2032 & go back in & replace the CR2025 or ???? I really don’t think the CR2025 is the problem. Is there something else I need to re-set?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"iawp_total_views":3},"question-category":[47],"question_tags":[],"class_list":["post-2527","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-hardware"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question\/2527","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/question"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/5"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2527"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2527"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"question-category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question-category?post=2527"},{"taxonomy":"question_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question_tags?post=2527"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
