{"id":177,"date":"2021-09-03T01:59:52","date_gmt":"2021-09-03T01:59:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lgildv5i97.onrocket.site\/answers\/office-creating-blank-cells-in-excel-2549-html"},"modified":"2021-09-03T03:00:25","modified_gmt":"2021-09-03T03:00:25","slug":"office-creating-blank-cells-in-excel-2549-html","status":"publish","type":"question","link":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/office\/creating-blank-cells-in-excel\/2549.html","title":{"rendered":"Creating blank cells in excel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello,<\/p>\n<p>Does anyone know how to make Excel treat a cell as blank if there is a formula in it?<\/p>\n<p>I have a formula which puts the contents of one cell into another<br \/>\n=IF((Y4&gt;5),&#8221;&#8221;,X4)<\/p>\n<p>In some cases the reference cell is blank so no value is entered into the cell.<\/p>\n<p>However, when I plot a chart of this data, the empty cells are plotted as zero.<\/p>\n<p>Is there a way to have the empty cells *not* plotted? As I would rather have gaps in the graph, or interpolate between missing values.<\/p>\n<p>I know that if you go to tools&gt;options&gt;chart you can select how to represent blank cells in a chart.
