The laptop is HP G72.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think that this is a dead pixel. I have never seen what a dead pixel looks like, but it is my understanding that dead pixels are just&#8230; dead, meaning that they do not emit light at all, and just look like dark dots on your screen.<br \/>\nIn my case we have the opposite phenomenon: the area where the problem is emits even more light than it is supposed to, creating that white spot effect.<\/p>\n<p>The white spot is best visible on a lighter background.<br \/>\nHere is a video of a guy who has a very similar problem.
