{"id":14588,"date":"2021-12-15T04:32:24","date_gmt":"2021-12-15T04:32:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lgildv5i97.onrocket.site\/answers\/?post_type=question&#038;p=14588"},"modified":"2021-12-15T04:33:17","modified_gmt":"2021-12-15T04:33:17","slug":"pc-shuts-down-during-partitioning-process-power-saving-set","status":"publish","type":"question","link":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/hardware\/pc-shuts-down-during-partitioningprocess-power-saving-set\/89822.html","title":{"rendered":"PC Shuts Down During Partitioning-Process, Power Saving Set"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am resizing the partitions on the Hard Drive on a Desktop PC.<br \/>\n(using the &#8220;MiniTool Partition Wizard&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>The PC and monitor shuts down after 20 min. during the partitioning process.<br \/>\nAfter restarting the PC, the monitor-screen displays (in real time) the partitioning process and the progress of the partitioning, for only 20 min duration and then it shuts down again.(PC and Monitor, both)<\/p>\n<p>No Desktop is visible. No keys are functioning.<br \/>\nThe wizard starts to re-run at every re-start , until the PC stops after 20 min.<\/p>\n<p>After the PC stopped, there was no Power, 5Volt DC or 15V at the terminals.<\/p>\n<p>Can the 5 and 12 Volts be supplied at the terminals to keep the Hard-Drive and PC-Board running?<br \/>\nIs that possible, maintaining the power at the terminals?<br \/>\nUntil the Wizard has completed the process?<\/p>\n<p>I am thinking here about an Electrical \/Electronic Solution, I am in that profession..<\/p>\n<p>Can the wizard be cancelled, or stopped ?<br \/>\nCan the 20 min shut-down time be disabled?<br \/>\nCan the Power-Saving setting be changed ?<\/p>\n<p>I was unaware before and only concluded now, after the shut down happened,<br \/>\nthat a shut down time for the PC being idle, may have been set to 20min, in the &#8220;Power Saving&#8221;-Setting.<\/p>\n<p>I started the &#8220;Resize Wizard&#8221;, not knowing that the PC will stop after 20 min run time.<br \/>\nNow the PC shuts down and the Wizard has not completed the resizing in that 20 min time frame.<\/p>\n<p>Are there short-cuts available, may be at start up, to stop the process, or re-boot the PC ?<\/p>\n<p>Thank you,<br \/>\nKlaus (From Denmark and live now in Australia)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"iawp_total_views":34},"question-category":[47],"question_tags":[],"class_list":["post-14588","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-hardware"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question\/14588","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/question"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=14588"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=14588"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"question-category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question-category?post=14588"},{"taxonomy":"question_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question_tags?post=14588"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
