It actually doesn’t even shut down, it just turns off. A little bit ago, I noticed that my battery was low, so I hovered over the icon and it said I have 11% left and 33 minutes left. Right after that I stood up to get my charger and as I was doing so, I heard the hard drive click off and the screen went black. It’s done this to me several times and I’m just really getting bothered by it. Especially this time since I lost some unsaved documents that I spent a few hours on. I checked my power settings whenever it came back on and I was right in thinking that nothing should have happened. Here are my settings:
Critical battery level: 5%
Critical battery action: Hibernate
Low battery level: 10%
Low battery action: Do nothing
Low battery notification: On
Reserve battery level: 7%

I’m not entirely sure what the reserve battery level is for, but I know that at 11% (possibly 10% by the time I stood up) should display a notification and do nothing more. Then if the battery gets to 5% it should hibernate. It should never abruptly turn off, unless by chance it gets to 0%.

My computer is the U46E-BAL7 by Asus, running Windows 8.

Has anyone else had this trouble or know of a way to fix it?

[68

post-14553","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-windows-8
["GET
