I have been wiping them, loading them with Linux, and giving them to local schoolkids in my little town.<br \/>\nTwo of them were given to me because they failed to boot and just beeped. Both computers are running Phoenix BIOS and giving me the 1-3-3-1 POST Beep Code which is the Autosize-DRAM code. An older (2005) forum posting on here said one of the problems could be that the SDRAM (PC-100) sticks were larger than the old 128MB per stick BIOS limit. That posting was correct. Both previous owners of those computers had tried to upgrade to 512MB (2 x 256MB) and that was causing the beep codes. I downgraded to 128MB sticks per slot and both comps started right up.<br \/>\nThe old posting is locked and I was not able to post this confirmation and share the info there so I thought I would share it here in a new posting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"iawp_total_views":10},"question-category":[47],"question_tags":[],"class_list":["post-13337","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-hardware"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question\/13337","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/question"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=13337"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=13337"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"question-category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question-category?post=13337"},{"taxonomy":"question_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question_tags?post=13337"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
