{"id":12912,"date":"2021-12-10T07:50:41","date_gmt":"2021-12-10T07:50:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lgildv5i97.onrocket.site\/answers\/?post_type=question&#038;p=12912"},"modified":"2021-12-10T07:51:24","modified_gmt":"2021-12-10T07:51:24","slug":"client-cant-ping-dns-server-by-fqdn-but-by-ip","status":"publish","type":"question","link":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/windows-2003\/client-cant-ping-dns-server-by-fqdn-but-by-ip\/10218.html","title":{"rendered":"Client Can&#8217;t Ping DNS Server By FQDN But By IP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hallo,<br \/>\nI&#8217;m trying to set up a WS2K3 Domain, for which I installed Active Directory, DNS Server, DHCP Server on one Machine.<\/p>\n<p>The Problem is, that clients cannot resolve the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the Server.<br \/>\n&#8211; I can ping the Server by IP<br \/>\n&#8211; I can ping the Server by name &#8220;S1&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8211; I CANT ping the server by &#8220;S1.hasa.local&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Client Configurations:<br \/>\nClients have Router IP as default Gateway: 192.168.191.1<br \/>\nClients have Server IP as DNS Server: 192.168.191.2<br \/>\nBoth they get from the DHCP Server on the Server S1.<\/p>\n<p>DNS Configuration:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130825090507\/http:\/\/www.picturestack.com\/568\/798\/du7reverseRHu.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Revers Lookup<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130825090507\/http:\/\/www.picturestack.com\/568\/798\/ceFforwardQAf.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forward Lookup<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please Help me, I really do not know why DNS Server doesn&#8217;t work.<\/p>\n<p>P.S.<br \/>\nOn the Server I can ping the Server itself by Fully Qualified Domain Name &#8220;s1.hasa.local&#8221; and by IP. The Client is Windows 7.
