More often then not it is a Windows 7 variant.<\/p>\n<p>My two theories are that a 64-bit OS eats battery life quicker defeating the Atom power trickle. However, more likely I think it is because the vendors ask, &#8220;it&#8217;s a Netbook, what would you need a 64-bit OS for?&#8221; Where I say, &#8220;\u2026because I paid for it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here are Intel\u2019s N450 specs:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20161106134913\/http:\/\/ark.intel.com\/Product.aspx?id=42503&amp;processor=N450&amp;spec-codes=SLBMG\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">http:\/\/ark.intel.com\/Product.aspx?i&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Would it be worth it to upgrade a Netbook with my own 64-bit OS?
