{"id":11485,"date":"2021-12-08T04:20:15","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T04:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lgildv5i97.onrocket.site\/answers\/?post_type=question&#038;p=11485"},"modified":"2021-12-08T04:21:13","modified_gmt":"2021-12-08T04:21:13","slug":"solved-can-you-stop-users-accidently-deleting-moving-folders","status":"publish","type":"question","link":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/windows-2008\/can-you-stop-users-accidently-deletingmoving-folders\/1034.html","title":{"rendered":"Solved Can You Stop Users Accidently Deleting\/Moving Folders?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi<br \/>\nIs it possible to stop users accidently moving or deleting folders?<br \/>\nYes i can set the delete permission and that works but I have this setup&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Take a nested set of folders (4 is in 3, is in 2 is in 1)<br \/>\nso 1 is the root folder<\/p>\n<p>If i set the delete deny on folder 1, but not on the nested folders, and a user tried to delete folder 1, subfolders 2, 3 and 4 will be deleted.<\/p>\n<p>I cant set delete deny on all folder and file as users have to make and delete files and folders below folder one level.<\/p>\n<p>So if i only set it delete deny on folder 1 and they try to delete folder 1, folder 1 would be left in tact but with no contents.
