I am trying to use my Xbox 360 Wired Controller I recently got from Microsoft to play Halo: CE on my computer.<\/p>\n
I updated the drivers for the controller using the software disc included with the controller and I also attempted to update the drivers through windows device manager, and it said that the drivers were up to date.<\/p>\n
The controller is recognized by Windows in Device Manager, the light on the controller is on, the Windows pop-up bubble shows when I plug it in, and I can press the XBOX button to get that little “Click to get help” thing to show up.<\/p>\n
When I try to use the controller in Halo, the GamePad section is grayed out and not clickable. As I want to use the controller for other games as well, I thought that I would just a program like Xpadder to simplify this.<\/p>\n
When I start Xpadder though, it will show that it is looking for a device, but it will never find one. I have attempted using many other similar programs including Joy2Key, ControlMK, GameCtrl and Joy to Mouse, but none of them that I have tried show any device that I can use. For some reason, none of them recognize that I have a working and Windows-recognized Xbox 360 Wired Controller plugged into the computer.<\/p>\n
Any help with what I might do would be greatly appreciated.
