First I changed out the psu to an HFX PRO650W then I put my new PNY GTS450 in the PCi-E slot and there’s no auto-detecting happening. I go into the Bios (a real adventure for me) and go to: Advanced>Chipset>Initiate Graphics Adapter and set it to “PEG\/PCi” which I believe is the default. The PCI-E Express is set to “Auto” (It was on “Enabled” but now I’m trying it on “Auto”.<\/p>\n
When testing this, my monitor cable is hooked up to the card and a six pin power supply cord is hooked up to the card as well (it has plenty o’ power). I get “no signal detected” on my monitor, the NVidia drivers I downloaded from NVidia say “no compatible hardware detected” so in essence this card doesn’t exist on this computer. I switch the monitor cable to Intel grapics and it works fine. That is, “fine” if I’m settling for onboard graphics.<\/p>\n
I know this is the Bios forum so if you give me some more tips on what to do in my Bios please be very specific, don’t take anything for granted as to how I perceive what you’re telling me.
