I started it, rebooted (numerous times) and eventually changed the start setting from “manual” to “automatic”. Nothing worked.<br \/>\nThe first sign of any problem was when I connected my friend’s Nikon camera with his specific USB cable, which normally would have started up Canon Camera Window [as my smart card used to, and my Olympus SP-800UZ camera would do if I hadn’t left the cable in a hotel in India before it was ever connected to my computer!]. However, the Canon software did not work, and to download my friend’s photos I had to use the ordinary Microsoft software, which successfully downloaded the jpg and movie files (via his USB cable). However, after that, I have had nothing but problems, and have run out of ideas to solve the problem – very frustrating!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"iawp_total_views":6},"question-category":[76],"question_tags":[],"class_list":["post-10354","question","type-question","status-publish","hentry","question-category-windows-xp"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question\/10354","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/question"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=10354"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10354"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"question-category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question-category?post=10354"},{"taxonomy":"question_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/computing.net\/answers\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/question_tags?post=10354"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
