I am trying to find NotePad on Windows 8. I can’t find it but I have found OneNote. Are they the same with different names?

C Drive > Windows > Notepad.exe
You could make a shortcut to the notepad.exe file on your desktop then drag it onto the Quick Launch bar bottom left. It is a very useful place for it as it can then be used everywhere including the internet. If you right click the file and create a shortcut it will offer to put it on the desktop for you as it is not allowed from within the Windows folder.
NotpPad is a simple but very useful text editor. One Note does a whole heap more, see here:

EDIT:
I’ve assumed your system drive is C, as mostly, but if not it will be the same path for another drive letter.
Always pop back and let us know the outcome – thanks
