Solved hp2 game GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT! HISTORY: APPINIT problem

changing game.exe file does’t work for me. i played my harry potter and the chamber of secrets game in the same system configuration before (meaning i didn’t reinstaled my windows 7 or any drivers like for some years now and i run hp2 like a year ago without ANY problems, everything was fine) and i never before had this error. i unexpectedly got the same problem with the sorcerer’s stone part like a week ago but deleting the hp.ini file and leting the game overwrite it helped. now i have the same problem with the next part of the hp series game and no idea how to fix it.
HELP, PLEASE!

      Right click on the shortcut, select Properties > Compatibility tab, check the box next to “Run this in compatibility mode for”, choose Windows XP SP3, & then click Apply. Then try your shortcut again & see if the game works.
