Do you think all computers are identical? If so you are quite wrong. We need to know the make and model number of your computer – we don’t even know if it is a laptop or a PC. Also let us know what this fuse looks like and what its ampere rating is.
Without more information all we can say is it goes back into the place it fell out of.
There’s probably a small surface mount fuse on the motherboard near the PS/2 port that if blown prevents the keyboard from working–at least motherboards used to have those. But it doesn’t look anything like the automotive glass fuse or blade fuse that are easy to recognize. It looks more like a resistor. It’s designation on the motherboard would would be something like F101 but it would start with an F.
As already mentioned you need to post back with a description of the fuse you found. It could be the keyboard stopped working for some other reason and you coincidentally found a fuse–or what you think is a fuse–that had been rattling around in the case for some time and you just assumed that was the reason.
Have you tried another keyboard or a USB keyboard?
Keyboard stopped working? Sometimes the simplest solution fixes the problem. Verify the keyboard is plugged in securely. Disconnect the keyboard from the computer and reconnect it into the same port. If you have a USB keyboard, you may want to try a different USB port to isolate the issue.
