  1. That computer originally came with Windows XP Home Edition SP2.
Are you using a Sony disk from another computer? If so, you may not get it to work. That said, Sony doesn’t have any Windows 7 drivers listed.

If you are using a full version DVD and it still wants drivers supplied then the hardware most likely is not compatible with Windows 7. My guess is you are using a Sony disk from another model that has different hardware specs.

Are you stating you have Windows 7 running in Safe Mode? If so, you could try going to Windows Update by booting into Windows Safe Mode with Networking and see if you can find compatible drivers there. There are some other methods but you need to respond to this post first.

  2. You need to clarify a little. There is no such thing as a “safe mode” installation.
Any drivers can be obtained for free from the manufactures website. You may need to download them from another computer on to a flash drive, then install them on the computer you just installed the OS on.

I agree with OtheHill, it sounds like you are using a disc built for another brand of computer in which it will not work.

Whatever you do, do not use torrents for downloading operating systems or drivers or whatever. You will most likely end up with a very corrupt/virus ridden computer.

  3. If you have a legitimate Product Key for Win7 32-bit, you can download the ISO file needed to create an installation disk at the following site. This is a legal download thru a Microsoft partner, it’s not a torrent. You’ll need a burning program such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a DVD:

    Win7 Home Premium 32Bit SP1: http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net…

    ImgBurn: http://www.filehippo.com/download_i…

As the others have stated, the device drivers can be downloaded for free from the Sony website. Drivers are never installed during the Windows installation, they are installed afterwards, so I’m a little confused about what you’re doing?
