Dual core Phenoms are quad cores with 2 cores disabled. Business class Phenoms (that’s what the B means in B59) are usually higher quality CPUs which makes them more dependable & reliable, which is why they’re designated B. You can try O/C’ing your 1st gen in the meantime but I wouldn’t expect a lot out of it, maybe 2.6-2.8GHz. It will be trial & error plus there’s the possibility your system will become unbootable, in which case you’ll have to reset the BIOS & start from scratch. Make sure you’ve flashed to the latest BIOS before you begin. I’ll have a look at the manual & see if I can recommend some settings to try.
