I have a desktop PC running windows 7 professional.
I have inserted a D-link wireless dongle to link it to out home wifi. It connects with the said wifi, but fails to connect to the Internet. (Other devices in the house have no problem in this regard) What could this be? I have checked the firewall settings and they dont appear to be the problem.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Kindly
Can you compare settings for the browser on the problem computer with another which works (connects to the internet) ok -using dongle in question?
Also, if the dongle requires its own driver(s) perhaps uninstall the device fully (drivers included); then reboot and reinstall it?

What does ipconfig /all reveal on the laptop in question, compared to a working one (with same dongle)?
Update: it turns out i cannot in cmd prompt access my ip v4, only the default getaway…
Also: i have discovered the following when i enter ipconig in cmd prompt: tunnel adapter isatap.fritz.box:
Media state: disconnected
Fritz box is my router…
